Serial RS232 to CAN

Description: No software needed in virtual mode, just put 2 devices on each end of the network and your RS232 devices are on the CANbus network. In command mode any serial device puts CAN messages directly onto a CAN network.

CAN 2.0A (11-bit ID standard) and/or 2.0B (29-bit ID extended)

CANbus baud rates up to 1Mbaud, CIA DS-102 pinout (H=7, L=2, GND=3)

RS232 DCE Female DB9 connector (TX=2, RX=3, GND=5)

RS232 baud rates configurable up to 57600 baud

RS232 7 or 8 data bits, odd, even, mark, space, no parity, 1 or 2 stop bits

No isolation, if you need 1000V isolation use GC-CAN-RS232-ISO

Simple configuration using a standard terminal or serial port

10 message transmit buffer, 2 message receive buffer
